Associate Consultant for Leadership Strategies – Management Lead
full-time position reports to the Vice President for Leadership Strategies.
Working closely with the Leadership Strategies team
on client projects, the Associate Consultant has two primary functions (50% each):
- Serve as the Delivery Second Consultant on a wide
range of Leadership Strategies projects under the direction of a Senior Consultant, ranging from Strategic Planning, Academic and
Administrative Efficiency, Board Development, Leadership Retreats, DEI Planning, and much more - Serve as the Manager of Leadership
Strategies Division and manage all division-wide aspects of Project Management (including three direct reports), affiliate consultant
processes and contracts, and assist with running the division, including sales, budgets, and hiring responsibilities with the VP.
For the Delivery Second Consultant portion of the work (50%), you will work under the leadership of a Senior Consultant, and up to four
additional team members, to help gather and interpret strategic plan data, build the strategy map, and serve as a backup for engagements
when the Senior Consultant is not available. This position includes access to presidential and executive conversations on campuses across
the globe, with the intention for this person to begin to take on their own consulting projects in a few years. This position is structured
for someone who is not new to higher education but who is new to consulting work learn the nuances of structuring ambiguous challenges like
those presented in planning and turning them into practical solutions, translate work plans into what executive teams need, and establish
long-term relationships with clients (most of our engagements are multiple years) while balancing twenty to thirty projects simultaneously.
For the Manager of Leadership Strategies portion of the work (50%), you will serve as the primary contact for Project Management
for all projects in the Leadership Strategies division, including managing three highly skilled Project Managers. The successful candidate
will be responsible for quality delivery of project management for all services, managing and training all Project Managers, and serving as
a back-up Project Manager or Comprehensive Project Manager as needed on projects. The candidate will serve as a vital member of the
affiliate consultant onboarding and contracting team, acting as the divisional liaison to all affiliate consultants. In addition, this
position also serves as a Chief of Staff of sorts to the division, managing sales, budgeting, and hiring activities on behalf of and with
the Vice President for Leadership Strategies, helping to streamline processes to enhance the customer and consulting experience in ways that
align with divisional and firmwide strategy. The successful candidate will be creative and bold, open to new ideas, and experienced with
project management, managing teams, and systems thinking. The candidate will serve as a vital member of the consulting and management team
with a clear pathway to a leadership role and much exposure to the Credo executive team and our clients.
An advanced degree and
5+ years’ experience in higher education and project management are required. This job fits best with an individual who enjoys
managing multiple projects, days that are never the same twice, and working with people virtually (often via phone, email, and
videoconferencing). The best candidates enjoy meeting new people, are interested in education and strategic planning, are energized by
helping others, find satisfaction in setting up projects for success, and are comfortable serving as a liaison with senior leaders on

The requirements
listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability to perform this job successfully:
- Proven success in
providing superior customer service - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Teams; G Suite; Zoom; and virtual whiteboard
technologies (particularly Miro) - Ability to quickly understand and learn new software programs
- A technical aptitude for
troubleshooting, design, and system development - Excellent organizational and multitasking skills as well as impeccable attention to
detail - Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Willingness to travel
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to successfully manage situations under pressure, new environments and people, and work under quick deadlines
- Strong
verbal, written, and presentation skills - Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Location
This is a remote position, with a home-based office, with an extensive amount of travel around the country.
Proximity to an airport is necessary for this position.
