Rick and Morty comics to tackle Dune, Star Wars and more

If you’re already excited about season 6 of Rick and Morty (it’s probably coming somewhere in 2022), you’ll be happy to know that you’ll be able to check in with your dysfunctional favorite duo a little earlier than you’d imagined, albeit in a different medium. Oni Press and Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced today that the characters created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland will team up in ink and paper adventures that pay homage to cinematic blockbusters like ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Dune’.

The three stories have the title Rick and Morty present: HerRICKTics of Rick, Rick and Morty present: Morty’s Run, and Rick and Morty: Infinity Hour. The stories are due out in early 2022, and Infinity Hour appears in four issues.

The first cartoon to come out is Rick and Morty present: HerRICKTics of Rick, which will be available from January 26, 2022. One-shot is written by Amy Chu (Poison Ivy: Circle of Life, Sea sirens) and offers the talents from Alexander Chang, with art by Sarah Stern (Rick and Morty, Aggretsuko), and letters of Button! (Rick and Morty).

As Rick finds the source of a new, incredibly powerful substance, he claims an entire planet to provide the market with a corner. But Rick and Morty are not the only ones on the newly renamed Arrickis, and the natives will not walk away quietly. Soon they become involved in the local political and religious struggle, forcing them to try to escape not only with their lives but with their minds intact!

Shortly after the release of the one-shot, the duo’s adventures will be followed by Rick and Morty present: Morty’s Run, and Rick and Morty: Infinity Hour. Both will be released in March 2022, and the first tells the independent story of Morty who becomes desperate to escape from summer camp, and he will even take Rick’s advice to do so.

The four-question Rick and Morty: Infinity Hour tells a long story about Rick being recruited to join a galactic uprising formed by a ragtag group of freedom fighters, mystics and mercenaries. Morty’s Run is written by Ivan Cohen (Batman & Scooby-Doo mysteries, Justice League: The One Where …), and illustrated by Empty (Rick and Morty). Infinity Hour is written by Mags Visaggio (Rick and Morty, Lost on planet Earth), and illustrated by Marc Ellerby (Rick and Morty). Both stories have colors of Leonardo Ito and letters of Crank !.

Rick and Morty present: HerRICKTics of Rick will be released on January 26th. Rick and Morty present: Morty’s Run, and Rick and Morty: Infinity Hour will be published in the spring of 2022.
