Pregnant woman shot, killed on the way home from her baby shows, says Philadelphia Police – CBS Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A pregnant woman was shot and killed after returning to her home from her own baby show on Saturday night. The shot started just after noon. 20.30 in the 6100 block on Palmetto Street.

Philadelphia police said officers found a woman, 32, who was 7 months pregnant, shot in the head and abdomen.

Emergency personnel took her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead just after 9 p.m. The unborn child was pronounced dead shortly after.

“There are a lot of women and children and women being shot and killed,” Deputy Police Commissioner Christine Coulter told CBS3.

Coulter said the victim carried gifts in from his own baby shower when the shooting took place.

‘There was an officer a few blocks away who heard the shots. When they got here, they spotted her shot several times, ”Coulter said.

Sunday morning, Mayor Jim Kenney tweeted about the shooting, saying the city is offering a $ 50,000 price tag for information leading to an arrest.

No arrests have been made in this incident.
