At a press conference on Monday, Chief of Police James White said the other person has been remanded in custody on an unrelated charge but is believed to be with Shepard at the time of the November 14 assault.

“We are convinced that we have the two people responsible. We have enough evidence and some facts and circumstances that I will not go into right now, but she was not randomly targeted. There was a conversation prior to the incident, and both were present during the entire incident, ”White said at the press conference.
