Kylie accompanied her baby father, rapper Travis Scott, to Houston, Texas ahead of his main show at the Astroworld Music Festival in NRG Park. The best-selling musician is known for wild performances on stage and for hosting unruly concerts, but his latest live set quickly turned into a disaster after a mob in the crowd cost eight concertgoers their lives.
Kylie, who is expecting her second child with Travis, attended the music party with their daughter Stormi on November 5, when the concert quickly turned into a horrific event. Reports say hundreds sought medical attention after a stampede overwhelmed the audience during Travis’ set. Eleven victims were reportedly in cardiac arrest as a result of the crowd, and eight have been confirmed dead. While Kylie posted videos of Travis performing with her set, Kylie’s Instagram Story showed that the star appeared to be at a safe distance from the overwhelmed audience. Not only is Travis under fire for continuing to perform under the tragic conditions of his show, but fans are also calling Kylie out for posting insensitive footage from the event.
Kylie’s videos provoked backlash as the clips remained on makeup mogul’s Instagram Story Saturday morning, Independent reports. Many users said Kylie’s posts were tasteless and insensitive to victims and their families. “Omg that I literally can not, kylie posted an instagram story of the concert and you can CLEARLY SEE THE PARAMEDICS TRYING TO GET THROUGH as WTF” @allshewrtebiebs wrote on Twitter and posted screenshots of Kylie’s video of an ambulance among the thick crowd in front of the stage.
While many acknowledged that Kylie was not responsible for the horrific scene at the live show, Twitter users hit the star for being ignorant in the midst of the fatal incident. “I know it’s not her fault, but Kylie Jenner talks about this video at #ASTROWORLDFest while a literal EMT car rolls through the crowd as the show continues is so incredibly dystopian” @emilybernay added on Twitter. It is believed that Kylie remained in safety while attending the concert on Friday, where she showed her daughter’s trailer behind the scenes at the event prior to Travis’ performance.
