KFL & A records eighth death from COVID-19 – Kingston News

Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox and the Addington region have registered their eighth death as a result of COVID-19, KFL&A Public Health reported on Wednesday. The deceased was a woman in her 70s, according to provincial information.

This was the second death in KFL & A associated with COVID-19 in as many days, after a man in his 60s died Tuesday.

According to provincial data, the diagnosis COVID-19 was made on November 7, 2021. KFL & A Public Health continues to investigate the method of infection.

On Wednesday, KFL & A Public Health reported a total of 40 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of active COVID-19 cases to 234, a new high. According to KFL & A Public Health, as of Wednesday, 13 local residents were hospitalized with COVID-19, of which eight were on intensive care and six on respirators.

Seven others have now died of COVID-19 in the region since the beginning of the pandemic: two men aged 90 or over, a man in his 80s, a man in his 70s, a woman in her 80s, a man in 60s, and a woman in her 50s.
