Eternals Post-Credit Scene introduces a great Marvel character

Post-credit scenes have been an integral part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe from the beginning, with much trouble in the final moments of the franchise’s upcoming episode, Eternal. Be warned, MAJOR SPOILERS follows. Well, it sounds like one of those post-credit scenes could be even more exciting than we had hoped, with director Chloé Zhao revealing that such a scene at the end of Eternal will finally bring Mahershala Ali’s Blade into the MCU.
That scene finds Game of Thrones star Kit Harington’s character, Dane Whitman, who in the comics picks up the Black Knight’s cloak and stares at an ancient coffin inherited from his ancestors that contains the legendary Ebony Blade. A mysterious voice outside the screen asks Whitman if he is ready, and that voice belongs to none other than Daywalker himself. “That was the voice of one of my favorite superheroes, Mr. Blade himself. Leaves, Leaves, Leaves, yeah!” Zhao has now confirmed to Fandom.
This is, of course, a hugely exciting addition to the post-credit scene, where Marvel fans have been waiting patiently for Mahershala Ali’s Blade to enter the fray. While his introduction may be in the form of an off-screen voice, it’s great to know that the seeds are finally being laid for the iconic vampire hunter’s introduction to MCU.
Oscar winner Mahershala Ali was confirmed to lead Marvel Studios’ upcoming Blade reboot at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. The project will be directed by Mogul Mowgli‘s Bassam Tariq, who will work from a manuscript written by Guards TV series writer Stacy Osei-Kuffor. Not much else is known yet about the film, though some rumors have it claimed to be titled Blade: The Vampire Slayer, and that it will introduce the audience to Fallon Gray, Blade’s alienated daughter. Blade filming is expected to begin in July 2022.
regarding Eternal, the 26th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to introduce audiences to a whole new side of the franchise, and follow the events of last year’s cartoon blockbuster event, Avengers: Endgame. Enter the Eternals, a species of immortal aliens from a distant planet that arrived on Earth thousands of years ago and have protected humans since the dawn of time. Created by Celestials, a race of powerful extraterrestrial cosmic beings who have secretly lived on Earth for over 7000 years, the Eternals must be reunited to protect humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants.
As for Harington’s MCU future, the actor recently acknowledged that “Nothing is safe. It’s the first thing you learn in this industry. There is no security.” Despite this, the actor remains cautiously optimistic Eternal is only “the tip of the iceberg” for Danish Whitman. “I have no idea if my character is continuing or not,” Harington said. “I had read up on who he could be or maybe be. So there is the possibility of a longer course. And hopefully I think this is the tip of the iceberg for my character. I hope.”
Eternal now playing in cinemas as part of Phase Four of MCU. This comes to us from Fandom.
