The mainstream medium ‘Final Hope’ to keep its ‘scam’ alive is censorship

Fox News Channels Tucker Carlson claimed that the mainstream media’s last gasp for survival came in the form of censorship to maintain its “monopoly” and that it used Big Tech to make it possible.

Carlson explained how the media, including CNN, was still occupied by former President Donald Trump, even though he is nine months out of office, and their TV ratings suffered because of it.

Instead of adapting, Carlson said media companies were determined to eliminate competitors.

CARLSON: About 20 minutes into the 2016 presidential campaign, it was pretty clear that the American media was terribly dependent on Donald Trump. They hated Trump, of course, but they also needed Trump to live, and that’s the face of addiction.

If you’ve ever seen a person grimace while swallowing hot vodka before breakfast with shaking hands, you know what it looks like.

So there was really never any question of what would definitely happen when news organizations were finally cut off from their vital daily supply of Donald Trump. They were supposed to collapse in a pile, and that’s exactly what they did, they collapsed.

On Tuesday, for example, not a single show on CNN, even the most important cable news channel in the world – “This is CNN” – not a single show on the entire channel approached 800,000 viewers, it’s really low. Chris Cuomo would be better off doing free concerts in the park, which he will soon be doing.

So with Trump gone, the old formula no longer works. It’s easy to understand.

What is more confusing, harder to understand, is how they have reacted to this fact? So let’s say you’ve made billions of dollars over the years selling rice crispy treats to a hungry public, dentists may have complained about what you did, but for you it was always a great business and you assumed it would continue forever because we always believe that all good will continue forever, but it does not.

Over time, consumers began to find that a marshmallow coated with breakfast cereals was not a particularly healthy food option. It tastes great in the beginning, eat enough and it starts to make you feel sick.

So they started buying less of what you were selling. Do you follow this?

How would you react to that? Well, if you were smart, you would probably just rename, you would change the color, you would throw some vitamin additives in, you would rename the product. You can call it crispy kale treats or healthy nutrition bars. You would have found out that people do not want sugary waste, they want something that is good for them, so you would sell it to them. It seems like a pretty rational choice.

What you probably would not do if you sold rice crispy treats to a rapidly shrinking market is to convince yourself that you are not in the snack food business, but instead on some sort of mission from God. You will not claim that eating marshmallows is an important moral requirement. You would not attack your own consumers for preferring anything else.

You would not condemn them as idiots or racists for eating less sugar. You would not try to ban the Atkins diet from making keto illegal. It would be insane you would go bankrupt if you did.

And yet this is exactly what the old media have decided to do as they face extinction. They have amplified the moral indignation. They have screwed up self-righteousness all the way up to 11, and above all, they pretended that nothing has changed and that Donald J. Trump is still advancing on the horizon like a big orange colossus threatening the very existence of this fragile nation .

We do not overestimate it. Here’s a recent snippet of cable news coverage in this country, and keep in mind as you watch every single one of these clips was recorded this week.

CARLSON: What a freak show. No wonder no one sees. Who would see that? But hear what they say. Trump will overthrow the next election, shouts the plump dwarf. They all do.

Okay, understood.

But the fact is that Donald Trump is no longer the President of the United States. He’s playing golf right now in Florida. Good for him.

How about covering what’s happening in America right now? Tons of change. Maybe you could explain it to us or even tell us about it. Nix. They refuse. And they refuse because they are trapped at an earlier age. They cannot adapt to a new reality. It’s depressing when you think about it. It will be all of us one day.

It is certainly very sad for them. Just a few years ago, hosting a Sunday show on TV was considered a very big deal, especially in Washington. Now no one cares. It’s irrelevant.

Imagine if you host one of these programs, Chuck Todd does not have to imagine. He is hosting one of these shows. He spent his whole life trying to get this concert, only to discover when he got it that it is not worth having. No wonder he seems so bitter and fragile.

JOHNSON: You have created a situation where Republicans and Conservatives do not trust the mainstream media, and that is what has destroyed the credibility of the media and our institutions and really shaken confidence in this election result.

TODD: Yes. No, the destruction of the institution –

JOHNSON: So I did not start with this.

CARLSON: Senator, I’ve had enough. Chuck Todd literally can not even bear to listen to anyone who criticizes the American news media. Oh, but he has to now. Sit down, Chuck. No one is interested in what you think anymore. Your moral authority is long gone, along with your relevance. You shout into the void. They are all.

Deep down, Chuck Todd knows that. They all know it, but instead of accepting the truth about themselves and their careers, instead of changing their behavior or acquiring brand new skills – that would be nice – or willing to retire to Cabo, come again this for all of us, they will not. They have one last hope of keeping their scam alive, and that is censorship.

So the dying media companies have convinced themselves that they can somehow get the government and their friends, the technology monopolies, to shut down their competitors, maybe they can keep it going. Maybe they will become important and lucrative companies again. Maybe we can go back to 2003, a time when people delayed their golf games to watch “Meet the Press.” Wouldn’t that be great?

That’s their goal, misguided as it is, and that explains why journalists of all people are suddenly leading the charge against the first amendment that you thought made their job possible. This tells you exactly why they hate FOX News so obsessed, and also “Substack”. This is the key to their campaign against what they call misinformation.

If you are now a literal minded person and we certainly are, you will laugh every time you hear them say that. Misinformation? Aren’t these exactly the same people who told us that Putin got Trump elected? Those who swore a high school kid from Kentucky was in the clan? Yes, same people.

So of course they are not against misinformation. The point is, they want to restore their monopoly on that, and that’s what they’re trying to do.
