Halloween events happen again locally – The Mercury News

Halloween last year was scary most because the pandemic escalated again, causing many local seasonal events to be canceled.

This year, however, residents of South Bay can get back to their usual horror night activities, as Halloween is pretty much back.

All weekend evenings

In San Jose, the Winchester Mystery House is designed for both indoor and outdoor seasonal tours. The Lost in the House Tour takes visitors on a theatrical paranormal exploration adventure through the mansion, while the family-friendly Jack O ‘Lantern Trail features dozens of hand-carved pumpkin exhibits in the Victorian gardens. Visitors to the gardens can also try their ax throwing or aim at Sarah’s Attic Shooting Gallery for an additional fee.

The Lost in the House Light Show uses the front of the mansion as a canvas for projections that complement the tour and path.

“The Lost in the House Tour is based on the many revealing paranormal investigations we have hosted and goes all the way back to Houdini’s historic visit in 1924,” Winchester Mystery House General Manager Walter Magnuson said in a statement.

All Hallows’ Eve runs on select nights until October 31st. Tickets are available at winchestermysteryhouse.com.

Trick or treat!

While the Downtown Campbell Business Association “fails on the side of safety” by canceling its trick-or-treat event for another year, the Willow Glen Business Association’s candy-grabbing event along Lincoln Avenue is a turn.

The Willow Glen Trick or Treat event on October 31 is divided into two sessions:

Toddlers, preschoolers and children in strollers are invited to join The Avenue with parents or guardians from 6 p.m.

The association “strictly follows the opening hours of the event, and companies will only hand out sweets within the specified time periods.”
