21 Savage celebrates 29th birthday w / party with Freaknik theme + festival rapper later slaps rappers and threatens lawsuit: We can not just let others offend our brand
21 Savage now has beef with Freaknik Festival organizers!
This Friday (October 22), 21 Savage became 29 years old. To celebrate the occasion, the rapper “Many Men” had a birthday party with a Freaknik theme called “Freaknik 21.” However, the organizers of the iconic festival took issue with the event and asked the rapper to either recognize the original Freaknik Festival or change the name of his party – however 21 Savage apparently denied. The root of the problem seems to be the fact that Freaknik is the trademark of After 9 Partners, LLC.
A spokesman for Freaknik addressed the matter by calling the rapper on Twitter yesterday morning (Sunday, October 24). Next to a video from 21 Savageparty, the spokesman said:
“So V @ 21savageand @megameezy # Freaknik21 last night on @underground_atlanta and looked like a super dope event. Too bad we will have to sue them as we all asked that they recognize us as it was a free event and they declined. ”

The account owner added:
“Spending over a million to revive a fire, fight negative public perception and prove that we can do it for 2 years without any problems, costs something. We can not let others just offend it. So know when you hear them talk that we tried to fix it very easily in advance [sad face emoji]. ”

Earlier today (Monday, October 25), 21 Savage replied with a quote tweeting Freaknik Festival’s original statement, adding:
“You better sit down somewhere.”

The owner of the Freaknik account responded quickly and doubled the case 21 Savage.

The spokesman continued to subtweet 21 Savage.

After 9 Partners, LLC also included:
“@ 21savage we are owners of the Freaknik brand. All we asked was that you acknowledge the rightful owner and we would have asked you to do something positive like post a link to raise money for charity. Since we always do something good in the hood every Freaknik. ”

Shortly after, the LLCs spokesman quote tweeted 21 Savage‘s statement and added:

21 Savage has not issued any further comments on the matter.
Especially 21 Savage is not the only rapper who had a Freaknik-themed birthday party this year. Back in early July, Saweetie celebrated turning 27 by having a party based at the Atlanta Music Festival. She commemorated the event on Instagram back in August, in part by writing:
“Congratulations on a month anniversary for my birthday freaknikkkk!”

Freaknik also covered the case on Instagram, uploading trademark documents and a screenshot from a text conversation showing how the organizers approached the situation.

At one point in the long caption, the account owner said:
“[21 Savage’s] event was a slap in the face to all the hard work [sic] We put in. We said we would give you a license for FREE and we would ask to make sure it has a non-profit presence there. They said no … I did not want this smoke … again we said ‘man put on for the city, just acknowledge us and we will give you the license for FREE.’ Meezy said he just wanted to change the name. He did not …… and here we are. ”
