2 youths, 2 adults found dead in Colorado Springs home

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) – Authorities say four people were found dead at the scene of a home in an incident that prompted a shelter-in-place order Saturday in a Colorado Springs neighborhood.

Two youths and two adults were found dead in a home in the 14th-century block of Pleier Drive in what police say is a homicide-suicide.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said about 6 p.m. 10:00 a.m., deputies were sent to the home on a report of a person at the scene who was seriously injured and in need of assistance.

Police say the inverted 911, otherwise known as a shelter-in-place or Everbridge, was dispatched when the Sheriff’s Office Tactical Support Unit was asked to respond on the spot, and they collected evidence at the time. The sheriff’s office says the alarm was sent without having all the details available at the time, and that was out of an abundance of caution.

The sheriff’s office says there is no threat to society at this time and the investigation is underway.

Police have not identified the victims.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact 719-520-6666.
