Spider-Man Is The Perfect Client For She-Hulk
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has gotten greener with the latest trailer premiere for She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. The series will follow Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) as she works as a superhuman lawyer while also understanding her new gamma-irradiated powers and her life as a single, hard-working woman. The series will likely have many hilarious moments and surprises tied to the larger universe, but fans have been truly excited about the possibility that Matt Murdock could work alongside Walters in a legal crossover. But while that would indeed be exciting, it may be even more engaging for her to have to defend a hero like Spider-Man, in the future.
For Peter Parker, things have not been very easy. Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, everyone who knew he existed was forced to forget everything about him to save his reality. As a result, Peter was left with nothing and forced to fend for himself. However, that has not stopped him from saving lives as Spider-Man. But with J. Jonah Jameson relentlessly tarnishing Parker’s good name, it would only be a matter of time before his accusations reach a legal level.
At this point, it would make sense for Peter to turn to Matt Murdock as he was the one who helped him with his legal troubles after Peter was outed as Spider-Man. But since Matt would not know who Spider-Man really was anymore, he would have to refer him to a coworker like Jennifer Walters. From there, the series could take a similar direction to She-Hulk # 4 by Dan Slott and Juan Bobillo, where Walters had to defend Peter after being sued by the Daily Bugle.
Spider-Man and She-Hulk could not be further apart regarding personality and how they carry themselves. But because of that, their on-screen dynamic would be even more engaging than if she met Matt Murdock. Where one pairing would equate to an exchange of legal jargon, the other would be Jennifer trying to maintain a strong case while the inexperienced Spider-Man speaks out of turn or interjects when he should not, only hurting his look with the jury. Not only would this test Jennifer’s own temper, but it would also remind her to mentor Peter on how to properly act in situations like this.
There’s also the possibility that others could sue Spider-Man for his acts of heroism. Those who bought into Jameson’s false claims may try to sue the hero, who already had no money, and realize that each case would be baseless as Spidey did nothing wrong and was actually a good person. It would help show just how Peter has been coping while being alone and how Aunt May’s final words resonated with him. Ultimately, the episode would showcase how great of a hero Peter has become to the people of New York City even after everything he’d lost.
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law promises big surprises and fun stories that dig into the legal world of the MCU. With the potential for many new and returning characters to crop up, there could be room for the likes of Matt Murdock. However, seeing Spider-Man may yield even more entertaining results as that would mean fans would see Tom Holland interacting with more Marvel heroes and testing his wisecracks in a courtroom setting. But most importantly, it would continue to showcase why Jennifer Walters is one of the best lawyers in the Marvel Universe.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law premieres Aug. 17, 2022 on Disney +.
