Florence Pugh shuts down false Will Poulter dating rumors

Marvel’s Florence Pugh has shut down incorrect claims that she is dating Guardians of the Galaxy star Will Poulter, after edited paparazzi pictures of them holidaying in Ibiza surfaced on the internet.

The MCU actors, who worked together on 2019 folk horror Midsummerwere papped enjoying the sun and sand with friends in Ibiza last week, and the edited versions of the photos sparked inaccurate speculation that Pugh had split from long-time boyfriend Zach Braff and was now dating her former co-star.

Pugh has now shut down the rumors, clarifying that she and Poulter are only friends and had been on a trip to the beach as part of a larger group.

Taking to Instagram stories last night (Tuesday 24), Pugh shared the original photos before they had been edited and cropped, writing: “Ooookay. Man. This is getting a little silly now. No, Will Poulter and I are not dating.

“We went to the beach with our friends, who are always about half a meter away from us in every picture, but have been cleverly cut out / framed out so that it looks otherwise.

“You can LITERALLY see my best friend in the corner of so many shots and Archie’s arms at the sides.

“I understand that the nature of this job is that you sometimes get your privacy completely bulldozed by paparazzi,” she continued, “but to fabricate this stuff actually does more harm than good. Thanks for saying we look sexy … does not mean we’re doing the sexy. “

She later added: “On another note, a very important note, there’s no need to drag people through this. Regardless of your opinion on who or who I should not be with, at the end of the day if you’re complimenting someone by trolling another person … you’re just bullying.

“There’s literally no need to be horrible online – no need. Think about what you write. Think about who it affects.”

This is not the first time that Pugh has had to address her personal life. It was only last year that she once again defended her relationship with Zach Braff from online trolls, after previously having done so back in 2020.

Pugh officially confirmed the A-list couple were together in 2020, but the pair have often had their relationship come under fire due to their 21-year age gap.

The Do not Worry Darling star said: “I think it bugs people that it’s not who they expected. But it’s my life and I’m not doing anything to please people or to make it a better headline or story. I want to also be a person!”

She went on to speak out against how online abuse has become so commonplace, adding: “It’s so weird to me to go on to someone’s page and shit on it. That’s so not my nature – to go and bully for the sake of bullying.

“It’s such an odd thing that we’ve become okay with in the past 10 years of social media.”

Do not Worry Darling comes to cinemas on September 23.
