Trump ‘likely’ to announce 2024 mid-term plans: ‘Many people will be very happy’

Former President Donald Trump said in an exclusive interview with Fox News that he “probably” will wait until after the midterm elections in 2022 to formally announce whether he will run for president in 2024.

“I’m definitely thinking about it and we’ll see,” Trump said. “I think a lot of people will be very happy, honestly, with the decision and will probably announce it after the midterm period.”

The former president said the timeline was “probably appropriate.”

“That does not mean I will,” Trump said of whether he will stick to that timeline. “It’s probably appropriate, but a lot of people are waiting for that decision to be made.”

The former president said that “many amazing people who are considering running are waiting for that decision because they will not run if I run.”

“We have a lot, they are all very well named,” he said of the GOP White House hopefuls. “But almost everyone said that if I run, they will never run.”

He added: “And it’s nice, mainly because it shows a great deal of loyalty and respect.”

As for a potential candidate, Trump said there are “many amazing people in the Republican Party.”

“She said she would never run if I ran, which I think is a good sign of respect,” Trump said. “I was very good to her, I thought she did a very good job in what she did with the UN. She did an excellent job.”
