has a set of million-dollar lawsuits on its hands as a result of the recent Astroworld tragedy.

As previously reported, the accident hit Friday night (Nov. 5) at Travis Scott‘s Astroworld Festival. At least eight people lost their lives at the Houston-based event, the youngest of which was reportedly 14 years old. The deaths and the various injuries were the result of a violent wave of crowds inside the festival – which had about 50,000 people – during Travis Scotts set. You can hear a concertgoer’s account of the case below:

Shortly after the tragedy began to make headlines, Travis Scott issued statements via Twitter and Instagram. The 30-year-old rapper’s IG Story upload on the case particularly angered viewers, as many claimed it was sincere.

Now there is an update on the case. According to recent reports, two Astroworld Festival participants have officially filed lawsuits for millions of dollars against Travis Scott and Live Nation Entertainment. It is also worth pointing out that one of the lawsuits is named Drake as well as with the plaintiff he claimed and Travis Scott helped encourage violence in the crowd while performing. Both plaintiffs say they suffered injuries from the incident, and one describes the violence as “predictable and preventable.”

It should be noted, however, that a spokeswoman for the police declined to comment on the case – even though she acknowledged that there is an ongoing investigation into the entire tragedy.
