Carole Baskin, one of the main characters in the popular Netflix documentary series Tiger King, sues the streamer as well as Royal Goode Productions over the coming Tiger King successor.

According to papers filed yesterday, Baskin and her husband, Howard Baskin, say so Tiger King directors Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin had repeatedly told them that the footage they were collecting by Carole Baskin and her conservation company, Big Cat Rescue, would only be used in a “single documentary.”

“The Baskins believed that any sequel – even if it was disgusting – would not contain any of their footage,” the complaint reads.

Netflix first announced one Tiger King succeeding in September, promising “more madness and chaos.” A trailer was released in October, with a prominent role starring Carole Baskin in a couple of the recordings.

The Baskins also requested a temporary stay that would have stopped the release of the show, which was quickly denied by a judge the same day.

“Although the Court understands Baskins’ frustration, it does not appear that the withdrawal of defendant’s recordings of Baskins will cause any immediate harm that could not be compensated for pecuniary damage,” wrote U.S. District Judge Virginia M. Hernandez Covington.

Tiger King 2 is scheduled to be released on November 17th.
