In addition to the Fear State: Omega special, scheduled for November 30, which will do much to establish the status quo after ‘Fear State’ in Gotham, the November 23 Detective Comics # 1045 story continues, albeit in events, which takes place around kl. the time of September’s Batman # 113.

Hi, cartoon time!

As the following preview pages show, Batman and his opponent, Mayor Nakano, have freed themselves from the parasite-infected Gotham City sewer system with some medical intervention from Dark Knight (who we do not believe is licensed to practice medicine like his father). But the parasites are getting bigger and on their way to the streets above, and it looks like Batman and Nakano will have to put their disagreements aside to eradicate the attack with an assist from Oracle, Orphan and Nightwing.

Now we already know they’ll succeed considering the events of Batman # 117, but DC promises that the events of Detective Comics # 1045 will change the relationship between Batman and Nakano “and cast an eerie shadow over the next big Bat event to come … “is a reference to the upcoming ‘Shadows of the Bat.’

Detective Comics # 1045 is written by Mariko Tamaki and Stephanie Phillips and drawn by Dan Mora and David Lapham with a cover by Mora and a variant cover by Lee Bermejo.

The Dark Knights’ upcoming departure from Gotham City may well be on Newsarama’s list biggest changes in Batman in his more than 80-year history.
