15-year-old Vallejo girl ‘placed safely’ and with her family: the police

Nearly 10 hours after her family reported her missing, Santa Rosa police said Thursday that a 15-year-old girl was with her family in Vallejo.

“The child has been found safe and sound at her residence with her family,” Lieutenant Jenene Kucker said in an email.

Detectives are following up to see what happened, she added. No further details were released on how she returned home or whether she had an affair with her alleged abductors.

The news of Georgiana Bambaloi’s return came after an Amber Alert was issued after her family reported her abduction, and surveillance video showed her being put into a van Wednesday afternoon at an Arco station in Santa Rosa.

Investigators identified a suspect as 20-year-old Ionita Cimino, but they did not identify the other men her family described.

Santa Rosa police said an officer responded to a report of a missing person at the Rotten Robbie gas station on the 2500 block of Guerneville Road late Wednesday afternoon.

During their investigation, officers learned that the girl was possibly being accepted against her will, authorities said.

Her parents told them she was forced into a dark Jeep by several men.

A separate witness told investigators she was standing with family members at an Arco station facing Rotten Robbie.

Surveillance video shows a man wearing an orange shirt running across the Arco parking lot around 6 p.m. 13.40 on Wednesday, grabbed Bambaloi and forced her into a dark gray vehicle, which then drove east along Guerneville Road, police said.

Santa Rosa police said the person in the orange shirt was later identified as Cimino.

Details of the men following the safe return of the girl have also not been released.
