Arkansas Governor says accusations of Trump fraud with voter could hurt GOP in 2022

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson argued Sunday that former President Donald Trump’s allegations of voter fraud during the 2020 election could pose a disaster for Republicans in the coming intervening terms.
Mr. Hutchinson, who has not ruled out a run for the GOP nomination in 2024, made the comments during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Meet the Press.”
“Negotiations in 2020 are a recipe for disaster in 2022,” he said. “The election has passed, it has been certified, the states have made decisions about the integrity of each election and made improvements where necessary.”
Sir. Hutchinson urged Republicans to focus on the present and the future when trying to call for voters. In particular, the governor claimed that Trump’s allegations of widespread electoral fraud were not “constructive” for the GOP’s ambitions to resume Congress.
“We can win in 2022, we must,” Mr Hutchinson said. “But let’s focus on the important issues in our supply chain, on overcoming this pandemic, on freedom and not the last choice.”
Banned from seeking a third term as Arkansas’ chief executive next year, Hutchinson has openly flirted with the idea of running for president in 2024.
